The Thomas Jefferson District 2009 Annual Meeting in Words and Photos
We began the weekend with a worship by Tandy Sheffler, Director of Religious Education, Oak Ridge UU Church and ended the weekend with a worship led by the Rev. Dr. Monica Cummings, UUA Youth Office, with music provided by Mark Fruendt and the Greensboro UUC choir.

The TJD 2009 Annual Meeting included approval of the budget, by-laws changes, support for the board's move toward policy governance and the TJD annual awards ceremony. For details, see Minutes and Reports. For a list of the 2009 award winners, see TJD Award Winners.

And what would a mult-generational event be without lots of fun? It all started on Friday evening with a roaring campfire, delicious s'mores, and a impromptu soccer game. On Saturday, some folks chose a wilderness survival experience and low-ropes course over workshops on dealing with difficult people (imagine that!). Saturday night culminated with a rousing concert by Kiya Heartwood and Miriam Davidson of the folk/rock duo, Wishing Chair. What a great weekend with an amazing group of TJD UUs!
