TJD Faith Development Services

The TJD's Director of Faith Development offers advice, training, support to the District's member congregations in the areas of lifespan religious education, programming, staffing, and administration.


Accountability
The Director of Faith Development (Lifespan Faith Development Program Consultant) is co-employed by the UUA District Services Department and the Thomas Jefferson District (TJD) and is accountable to both organizations. The Program Consultant reports to the TJD District Executive (DE).

Purpose
The Program Consultant advances the mission of the district by providing programs, resources, and consultation to our member congregations in support of their religious education (RE) programs, lifespan faith development, youth and young adult programming, and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help strengthen all facets of congregational Lifespan Religious Education and Faith Development programs through training, support, resources, and counsel to Religious Educators and Religious Education Committees
  • Assist congregations in developing strong youth and young adults programming
  • Support and strengthen district programs in Life Span Religious Education and Faith Development
  • Provide consultation and support to congregations for growth and membership development initiatives

Religious Education Scholarship Program
Scholarships are available to assist religious educators (volunteer and professional) in attending Lifespan Religious Education events. To apply for a scholarship, complete the Religious Education Scholarship Application.

Child and Youth Protection Policy
The Child and Youth Protection Requirements Policy was adopted by the TJD Board April 2005 and pertains to all TJD-sponsored events
