Youth Advisor Training 2012

The Southeast District invites you to attend our 2012 Youth Advisor Training!

When: Saturday, 04 February, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Where: UU Church of Charlotte, NC

Facilitated by: Kathleen Carpenter, DRE at the UU Church of Charlotte (For more information about this training or the youth CON, contact Kathleen at kcreuucc@yahoo.com, or call her office at 704-366-8623).

Cost: $40 per person (lunch with CON participants included)

Registration: Click HERE!

Details:  This training will include experiential activities that can be used in youth groups, balanced youth programming, concrete ideas for youth group/RE class programming, roles and responsibilities of youth advisors, risk management and safety, and useful information about CONs.  This year, our training will emphasize the importance of creating youth-centric, multigenerational communities within our congregations.

This will be the sixth time the district has combined a YA Training with a Youth CON.  Because it is a unique format, please note the following:

While the YA training is sponsored by the SED, the youth CON is sponsored by the UU Church of Charlotte.  The two events are totally separate, in terms of payment and leadership.

The training will take place while CON events are occurring.  It is assumed that enough adults will NOT be in the training to supervise the  youth during the actual training time.  If not, adults from UUCC will be asked to volunteer to supervise the youth.

Advisors with youth MUST remain on site all weekend (sleep at the church); those without youth may sleep at the church Friday night or find a hotel room nearby.  The only meal provided for non-CON advisors is lunch on Saturday.
